We are excited about what 2008 has in store as we are already working on two different projects.
The first is FLIPS which will be added to our list of "Love and Reilly" self published resources. FLIPS stands for Fun Language Interactions to Prepare for School Success. It is a compact A5 "flip" book with 100 ctivities and tips to stimulate young children's oral language competence and confidence. It is aimed at parents, pre-school/early primary teachers and those working in the child care setting. FLIPS will be available in April 2008
The second project is with Pearson Education and will focus on Phonological Awareness skills. More news of this soon!
Listen & Learn. is making its way out to schools across the country. This is a multi-faceted package with a variety of listening activities that target skills such as listening for descriptive details, listening for instructions in drawing, listening involving concepts of space and listening for inferred meanings. Children enjoy the "doing" in response to listening and can "see" their own progress as their listening skills improve!
You might have noticed that we have taken our first 5 newsletters off the website. They have been "re-vamped" into 2 newsletters - number 21 and number 22. Both target early literacy skills - namely phonological awareness and the important skill of establishing accurate and automatic sound letter links. Phonological Awareness - Preparing for Literacy Linking Sounds and Letters. Both of these are available on the website. Along with other past newsletters they can be found under the RESOURCES heading in the Articles and Extras section.
To receive the current newsletter, please subscribe (free of any charge) to our quarterly "Love and Reilly" newsletters.
