We have just returned from Central Australia where we conducted a 2 day workshop in Alice Springs titled "Language and Listening and their Links to Literacy". Participants were teachers and teacher assistants from the Tanami Group school - a 'collection' of 8 remote schools in the Tanami desert region. Our attempt to ensure that our material was relevant to this unique educational context was greatly assisted by a 'field trip' to visit 4 of the Tanami schools prior to the workshop. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and wish to thank everyone for arranging the trip and for welcoming us into their schools and lives. Elizabeth and Sue
