In line with the recommendations of the National Reading Panel 2000 [download summary report] the Oxford Essential Reading series represents best practice in early reading instruction.

Sound Starters consist of;
- 30 small books - one book for each of the 26 letters of the alphabet, 3 commonly used consonant diagraphs:ch, sh and th, and an ABC small book
that includes all the alphabet charachters

Help children consolidate their letter-sound knowledge

Sound Blends
Consolidate letter-sound knowledge by highlighting the initial consonant blends
Sound Blends consist of;
- 20 small books - one for 19 initial blends (onsets)presenting the most frequently occuring initial consonant letter blends in English and a Blends Blast-off book highlights all the inital blends in illustration.

Sound Rhymes
Stimulate awareness of Rhymes in stories
