Word Journey
This resource fosters interest in and exploration of words. It has 5 A3 game boards featuring specifically chosen vocabulary. 8 different task cards guide the players to explore word meanings in greater depth - Meaning, Sentence, Association, Sounds Like, Synonym, Word Building, Opposite and Figure it out (Double meaning/Idiomatic). One of the game boards is blank for photocopying - it can then feature spelling or topic words.
Uses: Word Journey provides a focus for expanding oral vocabulary. The task cards add flexibility to each of the games, enabling specific goals to be achieved with the whole group or with individuals.
Target Population: Primary and early secondary students and older clients with language impairment.
